The Vision for P3D Tactial Flight Scenarios

At Haze Gray Studios, custom scenery and aircraft assets are only half the equation—the ultimate goal is putting them to work in authentic, living tactical environments.

Our roadmap centers on building structured, immersive flight scenario packs tailored to the core military aircraft families in our library. But our approach is rooted in a fundamental philosophy: naval and Marine Corps air ops aren’t always about flying high-threat combat sorties.

Much of the real-world mission set is built on the unglamorous, vital groundwork—flying from point A to point B, running routine logistics, maintaining real-time surveillance and tracking, and moving personnel. You cannot put warheads on foreheads without logistics, and you can’t locate the target without tracking. Our scenarios reflect this full spectrum, offering a mix of meticulously recreated historical missions alongside routine, operational transport and patrol profiles that give your simulation a genuine sense of purpose.

Upcoming Aircraft Scenario Packs

As our environments and aircraft models reach completion, we plan to release dedicated flight scenarios covering our primary asset families:

  • CH-53E Super Stallion (Heavy-lift, troop transport, and tactical logistics)
  • MV-22B Osprey (Tiltrotor assault, rapid insertion, and transport sorties)
  • MH-60R & MH-60S Seahawk Variants (Naval surface warfare, ASW, surveillance, and utility support)
  • C-2A Greyhound (Carrier onboard delivery and critical fleet logistics chains)
  • E-2C Hawkeye (Airborne early warning, tracking, and carrier air-wing coordination)
  • F-35 Lightning II Variants (Strike, air defense, and combat air patrols)
  • C-130 Hercules Variants (Theater-wide tactical airlift and logistics)
  • Helicopter Utility & Attack Platforms (UH-1Y and AH-1Z operational packs)
  • Naval & Air-Wing Coordination Packs (Integrated task force, carrier, and DDG-1000 operations)

Free vs. Paid Content & Distribution

We believe in keeping the core ecosystem accessible. Every major aircraft family will receive at least one foundational, free scenario pack. For users looking for deeper depth and advanced functionality, optional paid expansions will provide additional tactical features. Aside from these advanced scenario packs, all ships, scenery foundations, and baseline traffic tools remain completely free.

To keep distribution clean, direct, and tightly connected to our community without relying on restrictive third-party software launchers, all upcoming scenario packs are distributed exclusively through our newsletter.

If you want to follow the development and get direct access when these scenario packs drop, make sure you’re on the list.

Could AI tools generate a working flying AI in P3D? A static CH-53E Super Stallion model was sitting in my files from an earlier project. It looked the part on a ramp, but it was a statue: no turning rotors, no gear, no cargo ramp. Meanwhile, the AI CH-53Es flying around my Okinawa were the…

Helicopters launch from Futenma and fly real sorties. Landing zones sit in proper jungle clearings, dozens of them. The…
